BELIEVERS SIGNS JAMES WORTHY
Realizing that he has committed a big mistake in dealing David Robinson to the AWAMITS, GM Totnak scrams to rock his roster and made a major signing by taking in LAKERS legend James Worthy.
Worthy, a vital piece of the 80's LAKERS Showtime team, is expected to shore up the small forward slot and take over the sport of unproductive defensive specialist Ron Artest.
"Ron's offense has been off-sync for the past 10 games and has been some kind of a burden in our offensive patterns. Having James starting in his place would stabilize the offense on that position without compromising the team's defensive competitiveness." commented Totnak with the signing.
PF Neil Johnson was dropped by the BELIEVERS but would continue to receive his agreed salary until the contract expiration.
"We're pretty much loaded in the 4 spot so I believed that letting go Neil was a smart thing to do. And with that nasty error I committed in dealing Dave, I need to decide fast." added the controversial GM.
Worthy's signing and elevation to the starting spot seems to pay dividends. This was visible with the way The BELIEVERS manhandled the AWAMITS in a practice game earlier, 122-68. Worthy turned in huge numbers as he scored a game-high 33 points, pulled down 9 rebounds and had 5 feeds.
Can Totnak make up for this big mistake? We'll find out tomorrow when they face the NETBURNERS.
